EXPRESS CHECK-IN - In an effort to expedite the registration process for those students that have completed all administrative requirements by August 1, 2020, Chowan offers an Express Check-In process. To be eligible for Express Check-In, a student must have:

  • Registered for classes
  • Completed all medical/immunization records
  • Submitted the housing form or commuter form
  • Accepted/declined any financial aid offered
  • Completed any necessary loan documents
  • Balance paid in full or appropriate payment arrangements (*)
  • More may be required for incoming students                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

 (*) Setting up a payment plan does not constitute clearance with the Business Office.

 

Note: Failure to make payment or satisfactory arrangements by August 1, 2020, may result in cancellation of your residence hall room and you will not be guaranteed housing for the fall semester.

 Beginning July 13, 2020, you can check on your status of the required items to qualify for Express Check-In by going to MyCU, log in using your network ID and password, then clicking on the Student tab.  Commuters will be sent an e-mail prior to the start of school with instructions on Express Check-In procedures.

WHAT DATES DO I NEED TO KNOW FOR FALL 2020 HOUSING?

  February 17-21 - Whites Crossing Housing Signups (Deposit required and current with Business Office)

  March 2-6 - Housing Signups Continue (Deposit required and current with Business Office)

WHY DO I PAY AN ADVANCE TUITION DEPOSIT?

Your non-refundable deposit serves multiple purposes.  It is necessary to both register for Fall 2020 housing and registration for Fall 2020 courses.  The cost for the deposit is $100, and it covers both registration and double occupancy housing reservations. 

Private room housing is also available for the Fall 2020 semester and requires a $100 deposit and a $150 private room deposit; totaling $250. This is ONLY the deposit for private rooms; there is an additional charge of $850 per semester for private rooms that is billed to your student account.

 HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR HOUSING?

Whites Crossing Apartments:

  Signups will begin Monday, February 17th (see housing packet for eligibility)

  To register for this housing, you must:

  Pay the $250 deposit

  Be current with the Business Office

  Have Business Office approval

  Meet satisfactory academic progress

Whites Crossing Suites:

  Signups will begin Thursday, February 20th (see housing packet for eligibility)

  To register for this housing, you must:

  Pay the $100 deposit

  Be current with the Business Office

  Meet satisfactory academic progress

Traditional Rooms:

  Signups will begin Monday, March 2nd

  To register for this housing, you must:

  Pay the $100 deposit

  Be current with the Business Office

  Meet satisfactory academic progress

 You may pick up your returning student housing packet in Residence Life or at www.chowan.edu/campus-life/residence-life, and click on "2020-21 Returning Student Housing Packet."

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE A HOLD ON MY ACCOUNT?

You can view your holds on MyCU.

 Business Office:

 Deposit hold: This will appear as "Registration/Room Deposit required"

        This hold may be removed by paying your $100 or $250 deposit to the Business Office or by paying online HERE. If you pay your deposit online, you may pick up your receipt in the Business Office the following business day.

 

  Business hold: This will appear as "Not clear to register for Fall 2020 classes"

  This hold may be removed by paying your account balance in full OR by having all payment plan payments paid in full through the current date.
